Idea Napkin No. 2

1) You. Who you are. What your talents are. What your skills and experiences are. Also: what are your aspirations? Specifically regarding your business concept, how do you see this business (if you were to start it) playing a role in your life?
I am Alyssa Freeberg, a sophomore marketing major and retail and entrepreneurship minor. I am also getting my Masters in International Business within the 4 years I am undergrad. My aspirations are fashion and business behind the fashion industry. This business concept has everything to do with my aspirations because it has to do with fashion industry.
2) What are you offering to customers? Describe the product or service (in other words, how you'll solve customers' unmet needs).
I am offering a fashion algorithm that helps consumers buy clothing and apparel based on their own body types and needs to flatter themselves.
3) Who are you offering it to? Describe, in as much detail as possible, the demographic and psychographic characteristics of your customers. Think especially of this question: what do your customers all have in common?
I am offering it to everyone because every consumer has body type issues and needs clothing and apparel to flatter themselves and wear clothing that is specifically for their body type.
4) Why do they care? Your solution is only valuable insofar as customers believe its valuable to them. Here, explain why customers will actually pay you money to use your product or service.
Consumers care because it is to help them embody their best attributes on their body and help them buy clothing that is perfect for their body.
5) What are your core competencies? What sets you apart from everyone else? Also: what do you have that nobody else has?
What sets me apart from everybody else is the fact that this program caters to each consumer specifically. It makes consumers feel like the program is tailored to them and their needs but it is actually appealing to every consumer with all different types of bodies.
I truly believe these elements fit together and since fashion is my aspiration, it makes sense that I care so much about this product. I really think it would be great for all consumers.
I didn't gain that much feedback so it was hard to use the comments to change my idea napkin but I criticized myself and thought about ways to improve myself. The only actually feedback I got was checking my grammar so I made sure to do that.

  1. Hey Alyssa! You bring up a really good point in your Idea Napkin. Every single person has different body proportions therefore not every pair of clothing is going to fit everyone just right. I think your business idea is something that the world should transition too. It is a really great idea and I think it has a very good chance to be successful. I actually saw a very similar idea to yours on shark tank a few weeks ago. A guy created an app that scans the male body and measures that mans proportions. It then can find exact measurements and you can order a shirt made to fit your specific body. I thought it was a great idea. I would research what sort of competitors are out there but I am sure it is a very new technology. Good luck and I think you would enjoy checking out my post Hey Colin! I have been in the same situations as you have and I know that they are not very fun. I think you have a really good idea. It is too bad that people weren't able to give you enough feedback for you to properly do this assignment again. I think you did a good job on your Idea Napkin though. I think you would enjoy checking out my post http://cambent.blogspot.com/2016/03/idea-napkin-no2.html.

  2. Hi Alyssa! I really enjoyed reading your post! I love your idea, it is something that I would absolutely enjoy having when trying on clothing, because I occasionally buy items that I certainly should not have and they do not look the best on me. A really strong point in your idea is that it caters to every person individually. As a customer, I know I truly appreciate when a worker is paying specific attention to my needs because it makes me feel like they actually care about me. This is a really great idea, keep it up! 3. Hey Alyssa, it is really interesting how ambitious you are by trying to complete your masters while completing your undergraduate degree. Your idea seems really interesting in theory but I am having trouble picturing how your idea can become a reality since there the description is not specific. Very well done when you spoke about your competition and what sets you apart. If you want to check out my napkin idea, here is my blog: http://felpar66.blogspot.com/2016/03/idea-napkin-no-2.html
